Winter vacation

Abstract Demonstration Posters

04. Mar 2021 KL. 12:00 - 13:00

Welcome to Stavanger Art Museum in winter vacation! We’ll make abstract paintings in the form of demonstration posters inspired by the Swedish artist Jacob Dahlgren. His art is characterised by bright colours combined in stripes or other bold patterns. Abstractions have a natural place in Dahlgren’s everyday life, and he thinks it’s important to invite the public to participate in exploring the possibilities of abstract art, colour and form through workshops and diverse social activities. He has previously held the demonstration poster workshops with children, youths and adults in Sweden, Bergen and Wales.

Due to infection-control regulations, we cannot loan out smocks, so remember to wear clothes you don’t mind splattering paint on. We use water-based paint in the workshop. The activity is suitable for the whole family.

To comply with the Health Directorate’s guidelines the event capacity is 10 people. You can order up to 5 tickets for you and your family/cohort. There must be at least one adult.

Reserve your free tickets on TicketCo.

We follow the guidelines for events set forth by the Norwegian Directorate of Health. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, we need to know who is attending all the events we organise. You must therefore pre-book free tickets to this winter vacation event at Pre-booking begins Monday, 22 February 2021.

To ensure rapid tracing of infection, all ticketholders must register on arrival to the event. We encourage you to meet up 15 minutes before the event starts.
