Dark Side of the Moon

Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg

17. Nov 2017 - 19. Mar 2018

In 2009, the Swedes Nathalie Djurberg (b. 1978) and Hans Berg (b. 1978) were recognised as some of the most promising young artists at the Venice Biennial. Their large installation The Experiment made an indelible impression on the public. Using music, animation and clay figures, they created a surreal, terrifying and psychologically charged version of the Garden of Eden.

Through collaboration, Djurberg and Berg have developed unique works of art that problematize basic instincts and emotions such as jealousy, revenge, greed and desire.

The upcoming exhibition at Stavanger Art Museum will be based in part on a further development of The Experiment, but also present newer works adapted to the museum’s exhibition rooms.
